My Perspective
Healthy sleep is vital for the overall well-being of individuals, both physically and mentally. It plays a crucial role in the repair and regeneration of our bodies, boosts the immune system, enhances cognitive function, and promotes stable mood and emotional well-being. For children, sleep supports brain development and the consolidation of memories. Furthermore, it improves temperament, leading to reduced frustration, increased focus, and enhanced adaptability. Restful sleep is equally important for parents, as prolonged sleep deprivation can negatively impact their emotional state, cognitive abilities, and overall health.
Various factors can contribute to a child's sleep difficulties, and when a child isn't sleeping well, the entire family can experience the effects. However, it's reassuring to know that assistance is available, and it is absolutely possible to improve your child's sleep.
Establishing healthy and independent sleep habits for children requires a personalized approach, as there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Whether you seek one-on-one support to enhance your child's sleep or find yourself in the midst of bedtime battles and nap resistance, I am dedicated to helping you achieve your goals and ensuring that your entire family gets the rest they need. With guidance, you can work towards developing effective strategies tailored to your specific situation, enabling your child to sleep better and promoting overall family well-being.

Why hire a sleep consultant?
Sleep can be a challenging aspect of parenting, and it's important to prioritize healthy sleep habits for both children and their parents. Getting enough quality sleep is crucial for a child's development and overall well-being.
Establishing healthy sleep habits may involve various strategies tailored to each child's individual needs and circumstances including addressing any underlying sleep issues or concerns.
If you're experiencing difficulties with your child's sleep, seeking guidance from a sleep consultant can provide valuable support and expertise. They can assess your child's sleep patterns, understand any specific challenges you're facing, and work with you to develop a customized plan that suits your family's goals and preferences. Their aim will be to help your child develop independent sleep skills while ensuring the whole family gets the rest they need.
Remember that every child is unique, and what works for one child may not work for another. It's essential to be patient and flexible as you navigate the process of establishing healthy sleep habits. With the guidance of a sleep consultant you can gain valuable insights and techniques to improve your child's sleep and promote overall family well-being.
Hiring a sleep consultant can help families navigate the sometimes overwhelming process of teaching your little ones to fall asleep and return to sleep independently. A quality sleep consultant will take into account your particular family needs as well as cultural and other parenting values. I will use this information and a strong foundation of the science behind sleep in the early years to curate a plan that aligns with your specific goals and is compatible with your values. Then I will work with you through the process to ensure you are supported each step of the way as you help your child to learn to fall asleep and stay asleep independently.
Frequently Asked Questions
I am a parent of multilples. Can you help me?
Absolutely! Sleep training more than one child simultaneously adds another level of complexity, but that does not mean it has to be twice as difficult! I will help you find the strategies and approaches that align with your parenting style and the logistics of parenting two or more little ones at the same developmental level. I will be there to support you though the process and guide you through the process of learning what works, when, and how to make adjustments when needed.
MY CHILD AND I SHARE A ROOM. IS IT STILL POSSIBLE TO TEACH THEM HEALTHY SLEEP HABITS?
Yes. Healthy sleep habits can have many different looks. I started my parenting journey while living in a shoebox sized apartment. We can work together to navigate your current sleeping arrangements or troubleshoot and find one that better suits your family.
Am I able to breast feed and sleep train?
Of course! Breastfeeding and healthy sleep habits can absolutely co-exist. We will work together to help you feel confident your little one is getting both the nutrition and the sleep they need through the night whether they are breast fed or bottle fed.
My little one has special needs. Can they be sleep trained?
Raising children is hard work and all those parenting challenges are present when you have a child with special needs, along with a few others thrown in on top. Sometimes those extra challenges are incidental, sometimes they’re significant, and sometimes they’re monumental. Helping a baby with special needs to learn independent sleep skills is no different. It comes with all of the regular hurdles, and on most occasions a few more to boot, but kids with special needs (and their parents) still need quality sleep in order to thrive and we can achieve that together
